LOB 25th anniversary
The Laboratory for Optics and Biosciences (LOB), founded in 2001 under the leadership of Jean-Louis Martin, celebrated its 25 th anniversary on June 18 at École Polytechnique. To mark the occasion, dozens of former doctoral and postdoctoral students from the lab gathered for a lab tour and an afternoon of speeches, presentations, and surprise videos, followed by a pleasant evening by the lake. A big thank you to all our board members for attending...
New publication in Optica - Two-photon light-sheet live imaging at kilohertz frame rate using birefringence-based pulse splitting
A new paper from the LOB microscopy unit on high-speed multiphoton light-sheet imaging has been published in Optica. We achieved kilohertz frame rates by enhancing the signal-to-photodamage ratio during live imaging. New publication in npj Heritage Science, first paper from the LOB on OCT applied to the investigation of cultural heritage artifacts.
Congratulation to Gael Latour's team. First paper from the LOB on OCT applied to the investigation of cultural heritage artifacts. We show the interest in imaging varnish layers, measuring their thicknesses and following conservation treatments based on varnish removing. An interdisciplinary work between scientific imaging, cultural heritage science and conservation. https://www.nature.com/articles/s40494-026-02460-4 Non-invasive quantitative...
