New publication in Nucleic Acids Research ”Archaeal G-quadruplexes: a novel model for understanding unusual DNA/RNA structures across the tree of life"
Happy to share latest article on G-quadruplexes in Archaea: "Archaeal G-quadruplexes: a novel model for understanding unusual DNA/RNA structures across the tree of life" published in Nucleic Acids Research Link in comments (paper in free access).
We introduce Haloferax volcanii as a tractable archaeal model for G4 biology.
Quadruplexes are everywhere... including in the third domain of life and in salty environments! (H. volcanii is a Halophile).
Congrats Lionel Guittat for coordinating this work! Thanks to the Morphoscope imaging platform at Laboratoire d'Optique et Biosciences (LOB) in École Polytechnique / Institut Polytechnique de Paris. Super-resolution microscopy was extremely helpful to visualize BG4 spots! Thanks to our collaborators in Toulouse, the UK, Italy and the Czech Republic.
